Fund Controller

Macdonald & Company is partnered with a real estate investment platform seeking a Fund Controller to join its corporate accounting team in Irvine. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to senior leadership and involvement across a growing investment platform. The team is looking for someone who can step in, own the function, and continue to grow within the organization over time. The Role This individual will oversee fund-level accounting and reporting across a diversified real estate investment strategy, working closely with internal leadership and external service providers. Responsibilities include: Managing fund accounting, reporting, and financial statement preparation Reviewing and interpreting fund-level documents, including JV agreements and governing structures Coordinating with auditors and tax advisors on annual filings and deliverables Overseeing third-party administrators and outsourced accounting teams Supporting capital activity, including investor reporting and distributions Driving process improvements as the platform continues to scale This is a hands‑on role with exposure across both debt and equity investments. Platform Overview Active real estate investment manager with a diversified strategy across multiple asset types and structures Expanding investor base, including growing relationships with international capital Lean team environment with direct interaction across senior leadership What We're Looking For 15+ years of experience across fund accounting, ideally within real estate or a related investment platform Exposure to both debt and equity structures preferred Strong understanding of partnership accounting, capital activity, and fund-level reporting Experience working with auditors, tax teams, and third-party service providers Ability to interpret fund documentation and translate it into accounting and reporting Nice to have: Experience with Yardi or similar systems Exposure to REIT structures or international investors #J-18808-Ljbffr Macdonald & Company
