Add or remove refrigerant fluids when necessary; start system, observe operation, read gauges and instruments, and adjust mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature in system. Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components. Replace or adjust defective or worn parts to repair systems. Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on appliances. Calibrate equipment when necessary. Utilize hand tools, test equipment, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s specification manuals to perform duties; examine appliances during operating cycle to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks and loose parts, and disassemble appliances and examine mechanical and electrical parts. Trace electrical circuits to locate shorts and grounds to adjust contact points and clean parts. Replace worn or defective parts, such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, and defective wiring; repair and adjust appliance motors, reassemble appliances, adjust pulleys, and lubricate moving parts. Test water pressure and locate leaks. Prepare and maintain related reports, records, and requisitions as required. Assist in the inventory of equipment, tools, and parts. Responsible for the proper handling, maintenance, use, and accountability of all equipment, tools, and parts to which assigned. Adhere to all safety standards. Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Qualifications Commute effectively with courtesy and helpful attitude. Read, write, and comprehend applicable written and oral instructions. Demonstrate ability to multi‑task throughout workday, with constant interruptions. Journeyman or Master level HVACR required; 5 years related experience and/or training in maintenance and repair of commercial kitchen equipment, including refrigeration equipment. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time. Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking; standing or sitting for several hours; climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs. Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods. Requirements Valid State Driver’s license required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance company. Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances; background checks will be conducted.
