This rewarding contract opportunity allows you to work one-on-one, providing essential care in a dynamic school setting. As an onsite RN, you'll collaborate with educators and families to ensure the student’s safety and success throughout the school day.

Key Qualifications:

• Current RN license issued by the state of Connecticut
• Valid BLS/CPR certification
• Experience with diabetes management in pediatric or school settings preferred
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to fostering student independence
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
• Organized and able to respond swiftly to medical needs
• Comfortable working autonomously in a school environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct care to a middle school-aged student in need of daily diabetes monitoring
• Monitor blood glucose levels, administer insulin as prescribed, and recognize symptoms of hypo/hyperglycemia
• Maintain accurate health records and daily logs
• Educate the student, family, and staff as appropriate about diabetes management
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and coordinate care as necessary
• Collaborate with school staff to support the student’s educational experience
• Comply with all school health policies and professional standards
