Job Description BluePoint Mortgage is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the company, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end closing and financial reporting. Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation. Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation. Assist with investor, warehouse bank, and vendor reconciliations as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience; mortgage banking or financial services experience, required. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with accounting software QuickBooks is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
