Position Summary Aetna Resources LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring for the role of Staff Software Development Engineer in Woonsocket, RI. Duties include: Analyze user needs and develop software solutions to meet business requirements. Determine feasibility of solutions and prepare technical design documentation. Upgrade existing software applications and/or systems to improve functionality and features with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability. Write and review high quality code and perform unit and/or automation testing. Develop and deploy application components and support unit testing and bug fixes. Participate in AGILE Scrum meetings and/or CI/CD. Support applications, systems, and databases used to process prescriptions, claims, and related healthcare activities. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on applications development, technical requirements, code review, project deliverables, quality assurance, and software development best practices. Mentor junior team members. Independently lead development of solutions with high complexity and risk. Telecommuting available. Multiple positions. Qualifications Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. In the alternative, position requires seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Four (4) years of experience in each of the following areas: API management tools; Integration solution designing for Aetna enterprise architecture; Requirements gathering for new features/epics added to Aetna architecture; Identify process gaps and propose alternatives in the project architecture using IIB design techniques as Aggregation’s fan‑in and fan‑out; Publish/Subscribe mechanisms over MQ protocol and workload management techniques; IIB and APIC skills on patterns and design techniques to convert into solution designs; SAFE (Scaled Agile Framework) model, track delivery efforts and maintain the status of project deliverables in Rally. Compensation Pay Range: $118,450.00/year to $236,900.00/year. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
