Farm Shop Helper

Farm Shop Helper Reporting directly to the Shop Manager, this is a hands‑on, entry‑level position that requires working outdoors and varying weather conditions as well as in a dusty/greasy shop environment. Hours can fluctuate seasonally, with long days and weekends required during peak season. Responsibilities and Duties Assist with a variety of equipment maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tune ups, greasing parts, replacing wear parts, changing brakes and tires. Help keep the shop and workspaces free of debris, clean up oil spills, organize tools, and safely dispose of hazardous waste. Retrieve parts from local vendors, help manage inventory levels. Accompany farm staff to the fields for on‑site troubleshooting, equipment setup, and minor mechanical adjustments. Assist in keeping accurate records of maintenance tasks, labor times, and parts used. Qualifications and Skills Basic Mechanical Aptitude: A foundational understanding of vehicle components and a strong desire to learn the trade. Physical Stamina: The ability to lift heavy objects (typically up to 50 pounds), stand for long periods, and perform physical work. Reliability & Teamwork: Willingness to follow strict safety protocols and take directions from the Shop Manager. Licensing: A valid driver’s license is typically required, with a clean driving record.
