Natural Resource Conservation Scientist (AI Training) About the Role What if your scientific expertise could help shape how AI understands the natural world? We're looking for experienced natural resource conservation scientists to evaluate and improve AI systems trained on environmental science, land management, and conservation decision-making. Your field knowledge will directly influence how the next generation of AI tools reasons about ecosystems, soil health, biodiversity, and sustainable land use - work that matters far beyond the screen. Organization : Alignerr (Powered by Labelbox) Type : Hourly / Task-Based Contract Location : Fully Remote Commitment : 10-40 hours/week What You'll Do Review conservation science questions and real-world scenarios used in AI training datasets Evaluate the scientific accuracy of AI-generated content covering land use, ecosystems, soil science, hydrology, and biodiversity Assess whether AI recommendations reflect current, real-world conservation practices and standards Provide structured, expert feedback to improve the quality of AI scientific reasoning and outputs Work independently and asynchronously - on your schedule, from anywhere Who You Are 3+ years of professional experience in natural resource conservation, land management, or environmental science Strong working knowledge of ecosystems, conservation principles, and applied land management practices Able to critically evaluate scientific reasoning, identify errors, and articulate clear improvements Comfortable reviewing structured written content and delivering detailed, constructive feedback Self-motivated and reliable when working independently on task-based projects Nice to Have Master's degree or PhD in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field Hands-on fieldwork or applied conservation experience Familiarity with AI systems, content evaluation, or data annotation workflows Why Join Us Meaningful impact - your expertise helps AI get environmental science right, at scale Fully remote and flexible - work on your own schedule, from anywhere in the world Cutting-edge exposure - gain firsthand experience with how advanced AI models are trained and improved Freelance autonomy - no micromanagement, no rigid hours, just impactful work on your terms Global collaboration - contribute alongside a diverse network of subject matter experts Potential for ongoing work - strong contributors are considered for contract extensions and new projects
