What You’ll Work OnThe Environmental, Health, Safety, & Security (EHS&S) Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS&S programs. The position ensures full compliance with corporate policies and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a safe work environment and minimizing risk to employees, property, and the surrounding community.Lead and manage plant-wide Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) programs in alignment with corporate, divisional, and regulatory requirementsEnsure compliance with all applicable Corporate, Federal, State, and local EHS laws and regulationsServe as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and maintain strong, cooperative relationshipsProvide leadership, direction, and guidance to management and staff on EHS&S mattersPromote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for employees and safeguard the surrounding community and environmentDevelop and deliver high-quality EHS&S training programs for employees at all levelsConduct audits of EHS&S programs, identify improvement areas, and ensure timely corrective actionsEvaluate new equipment, materials, chemicals, processes, and procedures for EHS&S complianceOversee and coordinate emergency response activities for the siteManage EHS&S and security budgets and ensure effective resource allocationSupervise and support a team of 11 employeesYou’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures. Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree (with preference for Environmental, Occupational Health, Safety, or related field)5–7 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) rolesStrong knowledge of applicable EHS regulatory standards and compliance requirementsExperience managing EHS programs and ensuring plant-wide complianceAbility to interact effectively with regulatory agencies, corporate leadership, and employees at all levelsExperience managing budgets related to EHS and security functionsPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of Michigan Environmental, Health, and Safety regulationsProven leadership experience managing teams and influencing safety cultureExperience in industrial hygiene, occupational health, and facility security programsStrong background in safety training development and deliveryIn compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
