Job Description

We are seeking experienced registered nurses to join our surgical unit team. This position primarily involves working in an adult surgical unit with some pediatric patient beds. Candidates must be comfortable with rotating shifts and responsibilities, including the potential for floating to other units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state laws.
• Document in accordance with standards of care.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans, as prescribed by physicians and hospital policies, including patient and family education.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement initiatives, which may include shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments to support patients' longitudinal plans of care.
• Exercise critical thinking to enhance patient safety and experience while appropriately escalating issues to the chain of command.

Work Requirements

This position requires coverage for every other weekend and holiday, with 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Minimum Years of Experience

Less than 1 year preferred.

Holiday Coverage

Availability for holiday coverage is required.
