Dream big and create the future of mobility at Magna Powertrain.Job Responsibilities:Scope of PositionFocus on supporting the manufacturing of powertrain components and assemblies. This role will be critical in developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes that ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering field2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or test engineering environment (automotive preferred)Competent in understanding of machining processes (turning, milling, hobbing, shaping, etc.) and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)Familiarity with robotic automation, PLC programming, or vision systemsAbility to read technical drawings and interpret 3D CAD modelsProficient in data analysis, root cause investigation, and process troubleshootingKnowledge of quality systems and tools (e.g., SPC, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP)Strong problem-solving and project management skillsKey Responsibilities Support the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processesEnsure all manufactured and assembled components meet critical tolerances per print requirementsCollaborate with product and design engineers to ensure components are manufacturable and meet performance requirementsDesign and procure tooling, fixtures, gauges, and automation systems required for efficient and repeatable productionProvide day-to-day support for production lines, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and defectsApply Lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement tools to optimize production flow and reduce wasteWork closely with Quality Engineering to ensure processes meet all ISO/IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirementsAnalyze process data, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for continuous improvementSupport new product launches, process validation, and PPAP submissionsCreate and maintain standard work instructions, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and control plansLead cost-saving initiatives related to labor, materials, equipment utilization, and process improvementsTrain production personnel on processes and best practicesAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
