Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 21-bed Medical Surgical unit with an average census of 15–16 patients, maintaining a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage and monitor patients with common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, DM, HTN, post-operative orthopedic, and laparoscopic cholecystectomy cases
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently, as telemetry monitoring is frequent on this unit
• Administer and monitor set-rate drips including Heparin; titration of drips is not required
• Collaborate with Patient Care Techs and charge nursing staff to maintain team-based nursing care, supporting admissions and discharges as needed
• Participate in block scheduling as available; weekend availability required on an as-needed basis

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license; any licensing history disclosures must be provided at time of submission
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias independently
• Valid, unexpired driver's license required at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working with telemetry patients in a Medical Surgical setting
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
• Experience with CPAP equipment and respiratory support in a non-ICU environment
