Position Summary

Renfrow Industrial is hiring an Industrial Mechanical Superintendent to lead multi-trade mechanical crews on industrial and heavy commercial projects. This role focuses on ironwork, rigging, structural welding, mechanical equipment installation, millwright alignment, fabrication, equipment setting, and shutdown execution while maintaining enough piping knowledge to coordinate equipment tie-ins and trade interfaces. This is a working Superintendent role. Candidates must be willing to use tools, assist crews, and provide hands-on support when needed.

Normal Working Hours

• Monday through Thursday schedule under normal project conditions.

• Typical 4x10 work schedule.

• Overtime, Fridays, weekends, nights, outages, shutdowns, and travel may be required based on client and project needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Leads, Mechanics, Millwrights, Riggers, Ironworkers, Structural Welders, Fabricators, Helpers, and support trades.

• Work hands-on with tools when needed to support production, safety, quality, schedule, and critical field work.

• Oversee equipment setting, structural steel interfaces, steel modifications, structural welding support, rigging, millwright alignment, fabrication support, and mechanical installation.

• Coordinate lift planning, crane support, equipment placement, base plates, equipment supports, platforms, machine bases, conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.

• Maintain enough piping knowledge to coordinate process/utility piping interfaces, equipment tie-ins, supports, access, and sequencing with Pipe Fitters and Piping Superintendents.

• Track manpower, material needs, production, quality issues, schedule risks, field constraints, and crew performance.

• Support Renfrow Industrial rigging, certified welding, steel erection and modification, fabrication, skid manufacturing, plant relocation, maintenance, outages, shutdowns, capital projects, facility expansions, new construction, code repair and installs, and emergency service work.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years industrial mechanical construction experience.

• Prior Mechanic, Millwright, Rigger, Ironworker, Structural Welder, Fabricator, or Mechanical Lead experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of ironwork, rigging, structural welding, millwright alignment, fabrication, equipment setting, and multi-trade field coordination.

• Working knowledge of process piping, utility piping, welding coordination, and equipment tie-in requirements preferred.

• Strong safety leadership, communication, planning, customer service, and crew coordination skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Regular work in active industrial facilities, fabrication shops, construction sites, shutdowns, outages, and outdoor environments.

• Ability to wear required PPE; stand and walk for extended periods; climb stairs, ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and platforms; bend, stoop, kneel, and access field work areas.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and assist with field work when required.

• Work hours may vary based on project schedules, shutdowns, tests, incidents, and customer requirements.
