Our trucks are designed to perform under the toughest conditions.SummaryThe positions within Materials III are responsible for coordinating parts directly for a Manufacturing department(s) and work in support of a Team Leader(s) to facilitate throughput. The employee is the subject matter expert for Materials amongst the department(s) they support. The employee engages in the ERP system to transact inventory, investigate part availability, and facilitate movement of parts across branch plants and intra-facility. The employee must be able to operate a forklift and other Powered Industrial Truck (PIT)/Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to transport parts around the plant. They may assist with training new staff members. They must maintain a clean and safe working environment.Essential Duties & ResponsiblitiesCommunicate verbally with co-workers to keep a safe, productive working environmentCommunicate effectively with leadershipCollaborate with counterparts in Materials and with Manufacturing team leaders, on and across shiftsUse a computer to: enter data for inventory of parts, navigate the ERP system, investigate inventory discrepancies, and use emailLocate/find materials missing, due to various causes, from a manufacturing work centerAssist in cycle counting efforts and activitiesManage warehouse pick schedules, including fluctuations in Manufacturing scheduleManage line side/warehouse inventory and overall material presentation on a per truck basisUnderstand key metrics for areas of responsibility and manage as assignedIdentify and drive improvement with BOM accuracy, part quality, material presentation, etc.Print, apply, tear, replace, and scan labelsReview work orders to ensure parts are properly placedIdentifying and verifying specific partsAssist co-workers with lifting partsAssist in training new staff membersUnderstand the differences in parts and tools, using prints as referenceWork required hours and have excellent attendance recordWork overtime as neededSweep and clean shop areaMaintain a clean and safe working environmentFollow written and verbal instructions to complete tasksOperate a forklift, tow motor, and/or tractor safelyLift light and/or heavy parts on and off a cart, floor, shelf, etc.Use of a cart to push/pull equipment and parts to and from designated areasMarginal Work FunctionsThese functions may be considered essential based on location, position, and other factors.Retrieve parts stored outside in all weather conditions: rain, snow, cold, and heat*Perform maintenance on tractor*Respond to other co-workers’ requests to deliver and retrieve partsBasic QualificationsPrevious experience within warehousing and material handling experiencePreferred Qualifications to complete Essential FunctionsPrevious experience as a Pierce team member or contractor.Working knowledge of ERP systems and proficient computer skillsDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving skillsKey Abilities Needed to Complete Essential FunctionsAll positions require the ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
