Family Engagement Specialist- Bilingual (Arabic)

Community Action Head Start is looking for dynamic Family Engagement Specialist - Bilingual (Arabic) to join us! In this role, our Family Engagement Specialist will work with children, families, and team members to enhance family well-being, promote positive parent-child relationships, and support families in a variety of areas.

We are looking for someone that loves working with young children and is passionate about providing all the resources necessary to positively impact the development of children. The Family Engagement Specialist is responsible for partnering with the Head Start team to promote positive family engagement. This person will work with families to promote positive child and family outcomes.

Starting Pay: $19.02/hour.

The Role:

• Coordinate the comprehensive Head Start services to families as they relate to early childhood education, health, mental health, social-emotional and parent education services.
• Partner with teaching and administrative staff to develop and implement family engagement opportunities that enhance family well-being and promote positive parent-child relationships, support family members as lifelong educators and learners, connect family members to peers and their community and promote family members' abilities to advocate and serve as leaders in their community.
• Assist families as needed to address crisis events that may impact a child's regular participation in the program and/or relate to basic family needs.
• Providing interpretation and translation of information and communication for Arabic speaking families.

Qualifications:

• Willingness to obtain a Home Visitor Credential upon hire or a Degree in Human Services or Social Work or related field (Education, Child, Youth and Family Studies, Psychology).
• experience working with families in a community-based, culturally and/or social economically diverse, family-centered program.
• Bilingual in Arabic.
• Experience and Knowledge of young children
• Valid Nebraska Driver's License and good driving record required
