Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a day-shift position requiring 1+ years of experience and CNMT certification.

Details

• Nuclear Medicine department in a community hospital setting
• 5x8 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM
• Weekend coverage required every 3rd weekend, approximately 1-2 weekend shifts per contract depending on vacation and call
• Call rotation once every three weeks, covering a full week (M-F 1600-0630 and 7a-7a Sat/Sun)
• Techs coordinate call trades as needed, with occasional weekend stress tests
• Equipment includes GE, Hitachi, Philips, Siemens, and Toshiba systems
• Procedures performed include HIDA scan, bone scan (3 phase, limited, whole body), lung scan, DTPA aerosol, perfusion, ventilation/perfusion, thyroid studies, cancer survey, I-123 uptake scan, uptake scan, myocardial studies, pharmacological stress, and thallium stress test

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• ARRT(N) and CNMT certification required
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• Texas MRT (Medical Radiologic Technologist Certificate) required
• License required if applicable
• Community hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, starting and maintaining IVs, and storing/handling/disposal of radioactive materials
• Prior travel experience required

Additional Information

• Located in Kerrville, in Texas wine country, about 1 hour outside San Antonio
• No first-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Facility housing available
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius to be considered; local candidates not accepted
• Must work 3 of the 5 winter holidays
• RTO requests should be factored into total contract length and are reviewed case by case
• Travel pairs considered on a case-by-case basis
• Manager will interview candidates upon consideration
