Job Details Job Location : 38th Street - Brooklyn, NY Position Type : Full Time Salary Range : $30.00 - $44.00 Hourly Job Shift : Swing JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for collaborating with the physicians and assisting in the exam rooms, coordinating services for the patients and working closely with the director of nursing to assure quality care. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs selected nursing duties, and assists physicians as part of the clinical care team. Updates patient charts prior to appointment, with their recent test results such as blood tests or other diagnostic tests. Confers with physician regarding any incomplete tests or consults prior to patient visit. Prepares patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room Obtaining and proper documentation of patient care services by charting the following; Chief complaint, history, current medications, allergies, vital signs, height and weight. Prepares, cleans and maintains exam rooms between patients use to ensure readiness for the next patient and physician. Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained. Gives injections, draws blood, performs EKGs, assists with GYN, and Dermatology exams, and assists with collection of specimens and processes them in Ezra Medicals Laboratory as needed; provides other patient care services as directed by the provider. Maintains sample medication records, administers or refills medication upon providers order. Triages and responds to patient communications within practice policy. Assists with scheduling tests and treatments, pre-certifying patients for procedures and processing referrals to other providers as needed. Processing prior authorizations for medications, assisting the providers with Prescription Monitoring Program for patients on controlled substances. Ensure that the patient understands the providers orders; how to take prescribed medications and/or use prescribed equipment. Calling patients with test results as instructed by provider Assists with recalls to patients reminding them of the need to schedule well visits, or for follow up visits, as needed. Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and families. Performs other related work as required. The Nurse must be compliant and cooperate fully with Ezra Medical Centers compliance program, including its standards of conduct and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the Nurses regular performance evaluation. Failure to comply with EMCs written standards, which includes the failure to report any conduct or event that potentially violates legal or compliance requirements, will be met by the enforcement of disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination in accordance with Ezras compliance program. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Registered nurse degree from an accredited college. Licensed by and currently registered by the New York State department of education.
