Industrial Journeyman PainterRichard Construction Inc. (RCI) is currently seeking experienced Industrial Journeyman Painters. An Industrial Journeyman Painter will paint equipment and structures for protection and cosmetic purposes in RCI's Paint Shop or across a construction site.RCI has various levels of Painters based on experience and skills ranked as follows:Painter Leadman: Sprays surfaces of machines, manufactured products, or working area with a protective or decorative material, such as paint, enamel, gel-coat, or laquer, using a spray gun. Thermal spray application experience preferred also. Must have 4+ years experience as a Painter of Painter Helper on an industrial project site or paint shop.Painter I: Same as "Painter Leadman" but with 95% ability or greater. Must have 3+ years experience.Painter II: Same as "Painter Leadman" but with 90% ability or greater. Must have 2+ years experience.Painter III: Same as "Painter Leadman" but with 85% ability or greater. Less than a 2 years of experience.Qualification Highlights:Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, or building plansMust possess all knowledge skills and abilities for position - see belowMust be willing to assist other crafts while not actively working on a painting projectMust be able to meet all physical requirementsMust be willing to follow all safety rules and regulationsMust have all required toolsMust be able to regularly and reliably show up at the assigned job siteMust meet all safety and security requirements at the assigned job sitePosition Responsibilities:Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations in space (coordinates), quantities, and sizes of materials requiredIdentify all tools required for tasksIdentify safety risks and precautions required to eliminate those risksMeasure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specificationsIdentify and mix paint and coatings as requiredKnow the proper use and techniques (stroke types) required per the paint/coating used and the item being painted or coatedMust be able to work at heights from ladders or scaffolds safely, using appropriate fall protectionClean up work areasMust be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties (be a Team player)Required Qualifications:Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform dutiesMust have knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic painting techniques and knowledge of paint qualitiesMust be able to identify the relationship of paint or coating specified for use to the materials being painted and the technique, mixture, and number of coatings requiredMust have reliable transportationMust be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime with little or no notificationMust be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional duties while not performing primary craft dutiesMust be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulationsMust follow all company and site rules and regulationsMust have required toolsAbility to work with others - Team playerGood communication skills with co-workers and supervisorsCommitment to Richard values, safety rules, and regulationsPreferred Qualifications:Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) former employee from a Reduction of Force (ROF)Former employee of RCINational Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Certification as an Industrial PainterFormal/Technical educationExperience working with paints, specialty coatings, and ladders/scaffoldsCandidate Possession of Required Tools:1 - Safety Toed BootsPhysical Requirements:Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and liftingWill talk and hear in order to communicate effectivelyAble to use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, and push or pull objects such as materials, controls, and toolsMay be required to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weightWill work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work off platforms and man liftsMay occasionally work out on an open structure using the appropriate fall protection requirementsMay work at heights up to 300 feet utilizing proper fall protection devicesWill use vision abilities to focus, see short distances, see colors, possess depth perception and peripheral visionMust be capable or working outdoors in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow, and windWill be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, earplugs/muffs, safety vests, gloves, steel toe/safety toe boots, and masks/respiratorsRCI is dedicated in providing a SAFE and Drug Free environment.RCI is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).
