Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Coordinator for the department of Family Medicine & Community Health at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The Research Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing research direction, including funded National Institutes of Health research projects. The Research Coordinator will develop, implement, and coordinate research and administrative procedures for the successful management of research, including a clinical trial, and will manage research staff. The Research Coordinator will work closely with Dr. Luth to make decisions, solve problems, and identify when independent judgment should be exercised. This is a full-time position with benefits. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Plans and coordinates the initiation of the research study protocol(s), and the establishment/adherence of operating policies and procedures related to research study protocols, research networks or research team. Establishes accountability for protocol assignments and study participants who are primarily older adults; demonstrates adherence to good clinical practice, and source documentation guidelines. Assesses and compiles eligibility documentation and participation status of prospective study participants and arranges baseline and follow-up appointments with potential and enrolled participants. Conducts in-person and virtual study visit as per protocol in a person-centered, clear, open-minded, non-judgmental context. Assists and develops data management systems to track study data. Assists research study operations as directed by the Principal Investigator. Union Description HPAE 5094 Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, health or social sciences, biology or related field plus three (3) years of related research experience in a health research setting required, or a master’s degree plus two (2) years in a health research setting are required. Experience building project and data management systems with platforms such as RedCap and Qualtrics. Experience with qualitative data analysis including proficiency with NVivo, Dedoose and rapid analysis. Experience drafting study standard operating procedures, IRB and clinical trials.gov protocols, amendments, and continuing reviews for qualitative studies and clinical trials. Experience with regulatory reporting including drafting, formatting and inputting submissions for NIA Croms and clinical trials.gov. Experience organizing and running virtual and in-person research symposia and events. Certifications / Licenses Use of a personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required for this position. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent communication skills and computer literacy (advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Canva.) Excellent writing skills including experience with literature reviews, manuscript and grant preparation. Demonstrated contribution to peer reviewed, published manuscripts. Requires skills and motivation for effective project coordination and maintaining team collaborative relationships. · Ability to work independently. Highly organized and must be able to proactively solve problems. Strong critical thinking and multitasking tools. Good communication skills and desire to work with older adults. Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Ability to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds. Work Environment: Hybrid role requiring a minimum of two in-person days per week at Family Medicine’s George St. office. Additional onsite presence may be required depending on operational needs.
