We are currently seeking the following position to join our team in our Northwest Houston, Texas facility, near 290 & Beltway 8.

MANUAL MACHINIST

POSITION SUMMARY

To machine, inspect and produce manufactured product per operating procedures and instructions.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform complex tight tolerance machining on manual lathes and mills
• Understand and operate machines, tooling, and measuring equipment properly and safely
• Read/understand basic blueprints
• Basic math skills
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as a team with coworkers
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Work independently with help as needed
• Regular attendance and ability to work overtime is essential

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Able to use specialized equipment including manual machines, lathes, mills, and measuring tools
• 5-10 years experience manual machining
• Programming and/or basic CNC experience a plus
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds and stairs and work in proximity to loud equipment regularly.
• Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including but not limited to: safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots and other equipment regularly.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly, 100 pounds assisted.
• Ability to stand for 8 or more hours daily/regularly.
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this position, the technician is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and electrical equipment in both high and low voltage/amperage ranges, and occasionally exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high.
