Human Resources Generalist

About the Company

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join a growing organization in North Phoenix. This is a well-rounded, hands-on HR position supporting approximately 100 employees, primarily within a collections, call center, and customer service environment.

About the Role

This role combines traditional HR Generalist responsibilities with talent acquisition. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in employee relations, leave administration, performance management, and employment law while also being comfortable managing recruiting efforts and partnering with hiring managers to fill open positions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key HR resource for managers and employees on day-to-day employee relations matters
• Conduct workplace investigations and assist with employee complaints, policy violations, performance concerns, and conflict resolution
• Coach managers on performance management, corrective actions, documentation, PIPs, and terminations
• Administer FMLA, ADA, accommodations, workers' compensation, and other leaves of absence
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and manage recruiting efforts
• Source, screen, and interview candidates for open positions
• Coordinate interviews, candidate communication, offers, and pre-employment processes
• Support onboarding and new-hire orientation
• Assist with employee engagement, retention, and workforce planning initiatives
• Maintain HRIS records and accurate employee documentation
• Support benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee communications
• Participate in HR projects, policy updates, and process improvements

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
• Well-rounded HR Generalist background with hands-on talent acquisition/recruiting experience
• Strong employee relations and workplace investigation experience
• Experience managing full-cycle recruiting and partnering directly with hiring managers
• Hands-on knowledge of FMLA, ADA, accommodations, and leave administration
• Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws
• Experience supporting hourly and non-exempt employee populations
• Strong communication, organization, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple HR and recruiting priorities simultaneously
• Experience within collections, financial services, credit management, call center, or another high-volume employee environment is a plus.
• This position is initially onsite in North Phoenix. There may be an opportunity for 1–2 hybrid days per week once fully trained and established in the role.
