Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in a pediatric emergency department setting in accordance with American Nurses Association standards and Ohio Board of Nursing standards of professional performance
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote optimal health outcomes for pediatric patients and their families
• Conduct detailed assessments of patient and family needs to deliver proficient, individualized nursing care
• Float across multiple ED sites, a Mental Health Crisis Center as part of the ED RN rotation, and inpatient specialty pediatric units (Med/Surg, PICU, NICU, or Transitional Care Unit) based on census and staffing needs
• Manage a patient assignment of 1–4 patients depending on acuity and unit, following cooperative staffing guidelines
• Promote a patient- and family-centered care environment and serve as a change agent to meet dynamic census and customer needs

Required Qualifications

• BSN required
• Active and unrestricted RN license in Ohio or a Compact license — must be in hand at time of submission
• CPR certification required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric emergency department experience
• At least one recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a mental health or crisis center environment
• Comfort floating to specialty pediatric inpatient units including PICU and NICU
• Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced pediatric settings
