Based in the New York City Metropolitan Area, the company has built a strong reputation in the neckwear category and expanded over time into socks, jewellery, small leather goods, and additional accessories. Job Summary

We are seeking a Controller/VP of Finance to lead FP&A, accounting, treasury, compliance, and IT oversight during a period of growth and divisional expansion. This role partners closely with the President and executive team to drive financial strategy, operational discipline, reporting, and decision support.

Location: Hybrid/On-site

Key Responsibilities

• FP&A and Strategy: Lead financial planning, forecasting, modelling, analytics, and board-level reporting to support growth initiatives, M&A, and new division planning.
• Margin and Profitability: Monitor gross margins, category profitability, pricing, cost reduction, and product mix opportunities across divisions.
• Accounting and Reporting: Oversee monthly close, GAAP compliance, annual review preparation, and accurate, timely financial statements.
• Treasury and Cash Planning: Manage cash flow, banking relationships, capital structure, working capital, liquidity planning, and risk management.
• IT Oversight: Oversee IT operations, systems, support, and security governance in coordination with key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of finance leadership experience, including 5+ years in a VP-level or equivalent role
• Deep FP&A, forecasting, financial modelling, accounting, reporting, and compliance
• Experience managing growth, expansion, or integration of new divisions
• Proven team leadership experience, including 5+ direct reports
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, executive communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• Strategic: Advises on business strategy, growth planning, and long-term financial goals.
• Leadership: Builds, mentors, and retains strong teams while developing future leaders.
• Process Improvement: Modernises systems, improves efficiency, reduces cost, and drives automation.

Preferred Experience

• Apparel, retail, consumer goods, or high-growth mid-market experience
• Experience with AI, BlueCherry ERP, D365 Business Central, or similar systems
• CPA, MBA, or advanced finance credential
• Board reporting or investor relations experience

Work Arrangement

Hybrid/on‑site, with an expected office presence 3 days per week.
