Within its state-of-the-art facilities, veterans can access primary care services for routine check-ups and preventive care. The medical center also specializes in providing various forms of specialty care, encompassing fields like cardiology, orthopedics, and neurology, ensuring veterans receive specialized treatment. Surgical services, both inpatient and outpatient, are available to address a wide range of medical conditions. This VA Medical Center places a significant emphasis on mental and behavioral health care, offering counseling, therapy, and treatment for conditions such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety and provides a vital support service, including social work, case management, and rehabilitation programs to address veterans' social and emotional needs.

Responsibilities

• The LVN provides skilled nursing care to patients in Specialty and Primary Care Clinics
• Administer medications via oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous routes per facility policies.
• Monitor and document patients' responses to medications and report changes to the supervising RN or physician.
• The LVN assists in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Support physicians and registered nurses in developing and implementing patient care plans.
• Be available for assignments in acute care, medical/surgical units, outpatient clinics, and lab settings. The LVN responds effectively to changing patient care needs and emergency situations.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of a state-approved school of practical/vocational nursing.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a medical/surgical or acute care setting.
• Certifications: Must have a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accredited by the American Heart Association.
• Licensure: Must hold a current unrestricted LVN license from any U.S. state.
