Clinic - LPNGhostRx is recruiting a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) for the Podiatry clinic within the Surgical Specialty Clinic service line at the Phoenix VA Health Care System's Southeast VA Clinic, a community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC) in Gilbert, Arizona. You will support podiatrists and surgical specialty providers by rooming veterans, obtaining vital signs and histories, preparing patients and instruments for nail care, wound debridement, and minor procedures, applying dressings and offloading devices, and educating veterans on diabetic foot care and post-procedure instructions.GhostRx is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that places clinicians at VA and federal healthcare facilities nationwide. Our contract clinicians work side by side with VA staff, are supported by a credentialing team that handles the federal onboarding process, and serve the veterans who served us. This outpatient role offers a day schedule in a modern East Valley clinic serving veterans in Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, and Queen Creek. Tour hours are to be determined and will be confirmed at the time of offer. Gilbert, Arizona is consistently ranked among the safest and most livable cities in the country, with excellent schools, year-round sunshine, and easy access to the greater Phoenix metro.Qualification and RequirementsU.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident (Green Card) status required to perform services under this federal contractAbility to read, write, and speak English well enough to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team; basic computer literacy requiredActive, current, and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealthGraduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing programMinimum of 1 year of LPN/LVN experience within the preceding 3 years, with podiatry, wound care, surgical specialty, or outpatient clinic experience preferredCompetency in sterile technique, instrument handling, wound care and dressing application, vital signs, and medication administrationStrong customer service, organizational, and documentation skillsCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red CrossMust pass a test-based clinical competency assessment prior to submission and provide professional references with current contact informationAbility to successfully complete a federal background investigation, fingerprinting, and VA credentialing package, including primary-source license verificationDocumented immunizations and TB screening; annual privacy, information security, and bloodborne pathogen training requiredWillingness to complete orientation and unit training during day shift hours before transitioning to the assigned tourAbility to work a weekday day tour at the Southeast VA Clinic in Gilbert, with occasional schedule adjustments as clinic needs requireResponsibilitiesRoom veterans for podiatry and surgical specialty appointments, obtain vital signs and focused histories, and complete diabetic foot screenings and clinical remindersPrepare exam rooms, sterile trays, and instruments for nail care, callus and wound debridement, ingrown toenail procedures, and injectionsAssist podiatrists during procedures, including patient positioning, instrument handling, and specimen collectionApply and change dressings, apply offloading and protective devices, and perform wound measurement and documentation within the LPN scope of practiceAdminister medications and local anesthetic preparation as ordered and perform medication reconciliationProvide patient education on diabetic foot care, footwear, wound care, and post-procedure instructionsManage clinic flow, coordinate consults, prosthetics orders, and follow-up appointments, and communicate with veterans by phone and secure messagingMaintain clinic supplies, equipment, and sterile processing workflow in accordance with facility reusable medical equipment (RME) policiesDocument care accurately and in real time in the VA electronic health record (CPRS/VistA) and communicate patient status changes during shift reportComply with VA and Joint Commission standards, infection control and safety policies, HIPAA and the Privacy Act, and all facility rules and proceduresComplete required orientation, annual training, and competency validations and report to work as scheduled, including during emergencies or adverse weatherGhostRX, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
