Police Officer - LATERAL ***$15,000 Hiring Incentives**

Police Officer – Lateral City of Napa Police Department is hiring lateral Police Officers to fill immediate vacancies. Eligible candidates are sworn law‑enforcement officers with one year of experience and a California POST Basic Certificate or waiver. Incentives $15,000 appointment incentive paid on first paycheck. Relocation assistance available. Vacation accrual credit of 80 hours granted at hire. Responsibilities Patrol assigned area by vehicle, foot, or as directed. Identify problems in beat, develop tactical action plans, recommend solutions. Maintain law and order; enforce state, local, federal laws; respond to calls. Investigate traffic accidents, provide first aid, traffic and crowd control. Investigate criminal activity, coordinate crime scene control and investigation. Issue verbal warnings, citations; prepare warrants; serve subpoenas and warrants. Arrest suspects and make arrests. Interrogate suspects, interview victims, witnesses; search, transport, guard prisoners. Prepare and document cases; testify in court; complete reports and records. Retrieve and return property and evidence; search for stolen property and lost persons. Maintain contact with public, preserve good relationships; interact with agencies. Perform specialty assignments as directed.
