Maritime & Coastal Civil Engineer / Project Manager

GHD is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer/ Project Manager to join our Maritime and Coastal (M&C) practice in Southern California. As a Civil Engineer / Project Manager, you will primarily provide technical leadership and overview on several waterfront projects in California, Oregon, Washington and the Pacific (West Region). This is a rewarding opportunity to demonstrate your local knowledge, be involved in challenging projects, provide technical solutions and mentor junior engineers. Our group focuses on projects such as coastal, waterfront, port, and municipal infrastructure improvement and resiliency projects. You will use your experience and knowledge and be involved in exciting projects that will offer an opportunity to provide technical solutions. As a Civil Engineer / Project Manager, you will provide design leadership, project management services, client management, and development support, relating to M&C projects. Further, you will have the opportunity to lead a dedicated team in sophisticated and innovative projects, support in the training and mentorship of engineers and other technicians, and become part of our internal leadership team.This position will be located in Long Beach or Irvine.Our Hybrid Work Model Be part of the dynamic culture! Join us in office, three days a week to contribute, connect and excel in our vibrant environment.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with fellow engineers on a wide range of civil engineering projects.Contribute to and manage development of technical reports, plans and specifications.Maintain open communication with project teams and M&C group members.Confirmed competence at all stages of the project life-cycle, from developing scope, schedule and fee proposals to initiating projects with project controls, preparation or competent staff oversight of the preparations of feasibility studies, preliminary and final suitable for public agency construction, as well as contract solicitation and procurement and associated client managementCoordinate and work with cross-discipline teams on other market sector projects.Proactively coach, train and empower project team members; handle oversight and maintain project requirements for safety, quality, efficiency to ensure they are maintained throughout the duration of the project.Grow and lead existing and new client relationships.Support pursuit/proposal efforts, developing scope, schedule and budget.Provide mentorship and development advice to junior level staff.Interact with clients, suppliers, and regulators and manage projects to successful completion.Keep up to date with technical qualifications and licenses.Get involved!
