Inventory Associate

Location: Merritt Island, FL 32953
Duration: 6 months (extension based on performance)
Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Compensation: Competitive pay rate | Urgent hiring

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Associate to support fulfillment center operations, including receiving, inspection, inventory tracking, and material handling. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Receiving Operations
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments delivered by carriers
  • Inspect shipments to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Perform quality control checks based on part requirements and specifications
  • Accurately document receipts and close work orders using inventory systems
Material Handling & Equipment Operation
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently
  • Move heavy parts and materials across facilities as required
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment operation, safety, and maintenance practices
Data Entry & Systems Management
  • Enter and manage inventory data in internal systems
  • Navigate system modules to retrieve and update information relevant to fulfillment tasks
Packaging, Labeling & Storage
  • Package parts appropriately at different stages of the workflow
  • Label and mark items according to SOP requirements for traceability
  • Sort, stage, and store materials securely to prevent loss or damage
  • Conduct storage audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
  • Identify and escalate operational roadblocks or defects
  • Support root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts within the fulfillment workflow
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety protocols, including use of PPE and safe handling procedures
  • Participate in safety training and maintain compliance with workplace standards
Leveling Guidelines

Inventory Associate I (Level 1)
  • Entry-level with 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Performs routine inventory and warehouse tasks under supervision
  • Follows defined SOPs with limited decision-making responsibility
  • Escalates issues to senior team members
Inventory Associate II (Level 2)
  • Requires 2+ years of experience in fulfillment, warehouse, or inventory operations
  • Works independently on complex tasks and processes
  • Troubleshoots issues, supports root cause analysis, and drives improvements
  • Demonstrates strong system knowledge and cross-functional coordination
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in fulfillment center, warehouse, or inventory operations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Effective communication skills in a technical work environment
  • Basic mathematical and analytical skills (percentages, volume, unit conversions)
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis capabilities
  • Proven ability to build positive working relationships in team environment
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced fulfillment or manufacturing setting
  • Requires standing, lifting, and operating equipment throughout shifts
  • Strong adherence to safety and operational standards
