ACRMC Training Center Coordinator/Health Care Educator

Lectures Lectures- demonstrates (how to perform), encourages questions Summary Performs consulting, coordinating and teaching responsibilities for Hospital staff, patients and community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversees instructor renewals, including course monitoring as needed Labels all AHA training materials/equipment as to the property of ACRMC Completes and maintains instructor and course files for AHA Training Center Manages and directs AHA training Schedules ACRMC community AHA training Designs training appropriate to students Follows AHA guidelines to determines length of training needed as appropriate to the trainee Provides courses in a timely fashion Provides up to date and accurate materials Maintains security of files and course cards Acts as a liaison to the AHA Completes and distributes course cards in a timely fashion Cleans and maintains all training equipment in working condition Completes and forwards required information to AHA as needed Maintains compliance with AHA policies and guidelines Maintains documentation of liability insurance coverage Maintains proof of sharing current information from the CTC (Community Training Center) concerning changes, new or revised material, and the most recent forms to all instructors for whom the CTC is the primary center Keeps current by attending AHA forums as offered and required on-line training Maintains original copy of current CTC contract Attends and actively participates in the CTC’s site reviews Operates within budget for education Maintains records of equipment usage Bills for training and establishes a schedule for course fees Coordinates equipment loans to affiliated instructors and other community members as needed Establishes rapport and demonstrates good communication skills Creates a learning environment by modeling a non-threatening attitude toward a trainee Lectures- demonstrates (how to perform), encourages questions Explains subject matter in a way that others can understand Applies adult learning principles Identifies and analyzes performance problems Coaches to improve performance Motivates learners and develops basic skills in others Provides Cardiac Rhythm interpretation courses for staff as needed Teaches quarterly at Competency Café Collaborates with Health UC regarding training materials Assist with requirements to participate in the ASPR Grant with the Health Collaborative Assist with ACRMC Emergency Management and Emergency Preparedness programs. Represent ACRMC in meetings and disaster drills with the Health Collaborative Work with the community resource partners to prepare ACRMC for potential emergencies in the community Provide Continuing Education opportunities to local EMS agencies Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. At least 6 months to 1 year experience teaching BLS and ACLS classes. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current BLS and ACLS instructor certification, PALS instructor certification preferred but not required. Experience with training required. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Computer Skills Able to navigate internet sites, including AHA instructor network and distributors for AHA materials. Must have a basic knowledge of working with Microsoft Word documents and Adobe Acrobat. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
