We are currently seeking a Human Factors Scientist for our Human Factors Practice in Bellevue, WA . In this role, you will work as part of a team to address human factors, safety management, risk communication, and risk perception issues in a variety of contexts that span occupational, consumer, and community settings, such as consumer products, electronics, motor vehicles, pedestrians, manufacturing, oil and gas production, healthcare, aviation, and more. Activities will focus on analyzing past accidents and injuries and managing safety risks to prevent future incidents. Responsibilities Managing a range of consulting activities that involve human factors issues in accidents and accident prevention, such as human perceptual, cognitive, and response capabilities and limitations. Developing client contacts. Working on multi-disciplinary projects and providing case management, information processing, and other project support. Conducting research to obtain and review technical data, scientific literature, regulations, and standards. Assisting with the design and evaluation of safety management practices and safety information. Communicating complex analyses clearly and succinctly to non‑technical audiences. Qualifications Ph.D. in Human Factors, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Industrial Engineering (emphasis on Human Factors), or a related field. Currently based in or willing to relocate to the Bellevue, WA area. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Assertive self‑starter who is an accurate and flexible worker under deadlines. Demonstrated mathematical aptitude. Desire to expand present knowledge, especially as related to various industries and applied contexts. Ability to use basic scientific research to understand and solve applied problems. Legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing required. Compensation Consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi‑weekly bonuses for high‑intensity efforts, annual bonus, and a 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary. The base salary range for this position depends on experience and capabilities and will be assessed during the interview process. Salary Range USD $105,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 per year.
