Senior Manager – Generation Interconnection As MISO’s Senior Manager – Generation Interconnection, you will lead a team at the core of the energy industry’s most critical challenge: reliably connecting new resources to the grid while balancing speed, accuracy, stakeholder expectations, and long‑term system reliability. This position offers an opportunity to guide strategy, develop talent, influence process improvements, and shape how the future grid evolves across the MISO footprint. In This Role, You Will Lead and develop a high‑performing team responsible for Generation Queue Definitive Planning Phase (DPP) studies and expedited resource addition studies. Drive accountability for accurate, defensible study results and on‑time milestone execution in alignment with the MISO Tariff and BPM requirements. Oversee the development, validation, and maintenance of power flow, short‑circuit, stability, and deliverability models that support critical planning decisions. Partner with Transmission Owners, Interconnection Customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex technical and operational challenges. Guide cross‑functional collaboration between engineering, modeling, automation, and data teams to improve study execution and consistency. Champion process improvements, automation enhancements, and operational efficiencies that improve throughput and customer experience. Balance technical leadership with people leadership—coaching employees, managing priorities, navigating difficult conversations, and helping your team grow and succeed. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering. Experience 5 years of previous leadership experience. 10 years of relevant technical energy industry experience. Benefits Base salary range: $173,000–$198,000 USD annually. Eligibility for an annual bonus based on performance and company objectives. Comprehensive benefits package (401(k), vacation, sick and safe time) available on the first day of employment.
