Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Days, 3x12 Hours (7:30–20:00) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required as Scheduled

Key Responsibilities

• Provide immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, including 1:1 care during the first 12 hours following surgery
• Manage ventilated patients in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic and support devices including Flo Trac, CRRT, IABP, and Impella
• Perform groin and radial artery management, including fem stop and TR band application
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiac surgery (CABG, valve), CAD (STEMI, NSTEMI, AFIB w/ RVR), cardiogenic shock, vascular, and thoracic conditions
• Float within specialty as required, including IMC and lower acuity areas, maintaining appropriate patient ratios (1:2 CVICU/CCRU; 1:3 IMC)

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or active Compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience required; first-time travelers considered with 2+ years of extensive CVICU/open heart experience
• BLS certification – American Heart Association only
• ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
• Ability to float within specialty, including IMC and lower acuity units, with no restrictions
• Compliance with onboarding requirements, including lab completion within 72 hours of contract signing and all compliance documents submitted 5 days prior to start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Experience with advanced cardiac and vascular surgical patient populations including CABG, valve repair/replacement, EVAR, and VATS
• Familiarity with CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version accepted)
