About the Role

Pinnacle Partners is recruiting for a Production Supervisor for 3rd Shift on behalf of a client in Seymour, Indiana. We are seeking an experienced manufacturing leader to oversee approximately 30 production employees and two Group Leaders on a permanent third shift. This role will serve as the primary management presence on the shift, taking ownership of production performance, employee development, safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a hands-on industrial manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead approximately 30 production employees on 3rd shift, including direct oversight and development of two Group Leaders who each support approximately 15 employees.
• Serve as the primary management presence and go-to leader on 3rd shift, taking ownership of production performance and employee issues.
• Oversee production goals, machine operations, quality, on-time shipments, staffing/resource allocation, and employee performance.
• Manage shift KPIs including uptime, on-time delivery, production/piece targets, safety incidents/accidents, and quality.
• Identify production and process problems, document issues, and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
• Hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, behavior, safety, quality, and production expectations.
• Coach and develop Group Leaders while helping develop future Group Leaders and operators.
• Drive a TPS/Lean/continuous improvement mindset utilizing concepts such as 5S, Six Sigma, waste reduction, and process improvement.
• Ensure machine maintenance needs are identified, reported, and addressed.
• Evaluate employee training progress and ensure training needs are being met.
• Maintain and execute DPAs.
• Ensure safety requirements are followed and production areas are maintained appropriately at the end of the shift.
• Manage departmental environmental waste and proper use and disposal of consumable supplies.
• Spend approximately 90-95% of the shift on the manufacturing floor actively leading the operation.

Requirements:

• Previous direct Production/Manufacturing supervisory or management experience.
• Approximately 5+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience directly managing employees, including accountability, performance, attendance, discipline, and employee issues.
• Ability to independently lead an off shift and make decisions without senior management immediately available.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to take charge while developing and supporting employees.
• Experience managing production performance and KPIs around uptime, output, safety, quality, and delivery.
• Understanding of Lean and continuous improvement concepts such as TPS, 5S, Six Sigma, waste reduction, or similar methodologies.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment with heat, noise, dust, oils, chemicals, and other traditional manufacturing conditions.
• Ability to work permanent 3rd shift, 10:30 PM-6:40 AM.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and meet the physical demands of the production environment.

Preferred:

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience with 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Automotive manufacturing experience.
• Steel, metals, tube, machining, stamping, forging, fabrication, or heavy manufacturing experience.
• Toyota Production System (TPS) experience.
• Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, or other formal continuous improvement experience or training.
• Experience supervising Group Leaders or Team Leads and developing future frontline leaders.
• Some college education.
• Microsoft Office skills.
• Forklift experience or ability to operate a forklift.

• Competitive base salary of approximately $70,000 to $80,000.
