Heavy Equipment MechanicInspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment such as forklifts, manlifts, hostlers, reach stackers, front and side loaders, cranes, etc.Perform detailed equipment inspections and preventative maintenance following OEM specifications.Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to accurately assess equipment condition and repair needs.Complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records with attention to detail and accuracy.Perform welding or fabrication repairs as needed.Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools and equipment.Respond to emergency breakdowns in the field or yard as needed and maintain a high sense of urgency on customer related requests.Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and other team members regarding equipment status and required repairs and adhere to all company-wide policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability.Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.Assist in delivering required training to ensure that all co-workers have the necessary skills to perform their jobs properly and safely.Participate in special projects or other work as assigned.High school diploma or GED3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or diesel technician, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment such as forklifts, manlifts, hostlers, reach stackers, front and side loaders, cranes, etc.Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR)Mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems and the ability to effectively troubleshoot in these areas.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics, and diagnostic codesBasic welding and fabrication skillsWillingness to work after hours call outs.Ability to lift 50+ lbs. climb, bend, and work in the presence of loud machinery in various outdoor conditions and at elevated heights.Ability to understand and abide by all Company and Railroad safety policies.Ability to recognize all colors in a normal spectrum.A full complement of industry-standard tools. This role requires a significant personal investment in tools commonly used for diesel, hydraulic, or heavy equipment maintenance and repair.Completion of a certified trade program or technical degree in heavy equipment, diesel, or automotive mechanicsExperience with fleet management systems or maintenance tracking softwareOSHA 10/30 or other safety certificationsThis role is based out of San Bernardino, CA 92411This role requires employees to be on-site during shift hours.REMPREX specializes in the operation, support and engineering of intermodal terminals and ports nationwide.
