Join our Team as a Dental Care CoordinatorLocation: Grand Avenue Dental CenterDescription:The purpose of the Care Coordinator is to help patients feel comfortable in our practice and toassist them in reaching their dental goals by ensuring an efficient process from initial contact throughscheduling, consultation, case presentation, and treatment. The Care Coordinator gives specialattention to those considering or inquiring about the practice or services to help them becomepatients and support them every step of the way.Qualifications:Minimum 2-3 years experience in the dental field.High school diploma required. College credits and/or degree preferredCompliance with state dental practice requirements (i.e., x-ray requirements, OSHA training)X-ray certification required (May be obtained within 6 months after hire)CPR (BLS) Certification currentSuperior interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsA professional demeanorAbility to maintain confidentialityStrong time management abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively and contribute positively to a team environment Schedule: Monday-Thursday (Full-time)Objectives and Responsibilities:Establish and maintain a trusting and supportive relationship with patientsBuild the value of the patient's experience and service(s)Take responsibility for the entire patient baseWelcome patients in person or on the phone, with a friendly positive demeanorMaximize the doctor's schedule and production timeTake radiographs as neededCreate and present dental care treatment plans for patientsEnsure that patients are scheduled for dental hygiene and/or treatment at the conclusion ofeach appointmentComplete general scheduling, confirmation, and communication duties by:Checking messages each morning and following up with callersConsistently checking emailAnswering questions from patients about treatment over the phoneScheduling and rescheduling appointmentsEnsuring appointments are scheduled with the correct provider, proper procedures are attached, and the time length is correctFollow up with patients with diagnosed and unscheduled treatment Prepares for visits by:Ensuring x-rays and other information have been received before the patient's arrivalEnsuring new patients have received new patient information and health history formsin advance of the initial visitVerifying, and attaching, patient insurance information and that their plans are accurateand activeConfirm appointments (text or phone) before noonVerify and confirm lab cases have been delivered before confirmation calls / remindersOffice ParticipationBe an active participant in morning huddles, team meetings, as well as community engagementactivities/opportunitiesPromote team concept by interacting positively with others in the officeBe willing to offer help and be proactive in filling areas of need in the officeCommunicate clearly with all staff in regard to absenceSeek out continuing education opportunities to improve skillsOther duties that may be assigned by the supervisorMetricsThe patient coordinator monitors success by watching the following key performance indicators(KPIs):New PatientsHygiene Reappointment PercentageTreatment Acceptance PercentageAn upward trend of these metrics on a graph would indicate that the patient coordinator issuccessfully meeting the objectives of the position and the needs of the practice.
