Director of Accounting and Reporting, Hybrid (165K-175K+Bonus)

A publicly traded, organization is searching for a Director of Accounting and Reporting to oversee corporate accounting and external financial reporting. This role reports directly to the VP of Accounting and will serve as a true partner in strengthening technical accounting, financial reporting, and team performance. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of hands‑on technical expertise, public‑company reporting experience, and natural leadership—someone comfortable rolling up their sleeves while also guiding and developing a team. This position pays 165K-175K+Bonus and is in office ONLY 2 days/week. Why This Opportunity Stands Out Direct partnership with a highly collaborative VP Ownership of both corporate accounting and financial reporting Meaningful exposure to executive leadership, investor relations, and the broader business Team leadership responsibility with the ability to shape structure, process, and culture What You’ll Do Oversee corporate accounting and external financial reporting for a publicly traded company Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance Own preparation and review of SEC filings (10‑K, 10‑Q), including XBRL tagging Ensure strong technical accounting compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements Partner with the VP of Accounting to strengthen processes, analytics, and internal controls Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations Accounting and Investor Relations Review complex accounting matters and provide technical guidance to the team Identify opportunities to shorten close timelines and improve financial reporting quality Mentor and develop talent, setting expectations and elevating team performance What They’re Looking For Strong technical accounting expertise Deep corporate general ledger and close experience Proven public‑company financial reporting experience (10‑K, 10‑Q) 8-12+ years of progressive accounting and reporting experience Background in public accounting (Big Four or national firm) strongly preferred Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of rallying and developing teams Naturally curious mindset—asks questions, challenges status quo, drives improvement Experience with XBRL tagging #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
