Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48

Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Weekend Hours: As required by facility/every other weekend

Qualifications

Required Licensure: Current RN License eligible for licensure or currently licensed in the state of Missouri

Required Certifications: BLS from AHA only

Preferred Certifications: ACLS from AHA only

Years of Experience: 1 year in Med Surg

Float Requirements: May be floated to other units depending on staffing needs

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 15 currently; 15 beds under construction

Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 on days, 1:6-7 on nights. Ratios are not guaranteed.

Equipment: Nova Meters for blood glucose, Alaris IV pump, Kangaroo pumps, SCD machine

EMR: EPIC

Must Have Skills/Experience: 1 year Med Surg, inpatient only

Personality Fit: Overall team player willing to provide care to a diverse population

Scrub Color: Black

Unacceptable Attire: Any attire other than above, no open-toed shoes

Auto Offer Guidelines

Flexible guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 hours must be listed on the submission form

Blocked scheduling: (no specific days) may be approved based on facility requirements.

RTO of 5 days or less: Must be made up at the end of the assignment.

Holiday RTO: Can request only 1 per assignment

Auto offers: Are contingent upon facility approval.

Night shift orients: On day shift; traveler must be available the entire week for orientation.

Additional Information

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and is accountable for the care provided. Evaluates the effectiveness of care given by other caregivers and coordinates patient care with other departments, ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are maintained. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care for all age groups following established guidelines and standards.

Working Conditions

Position requires standing and walking most of the time, with a significant amount of bending, stooping, and lifting patients with assistance. Must be adaptable to differing schedules and shifts based on patient care needs. High risk exposure to blood and body fluids is present. Physical demands include lifting, pushing, pulling up to required weights, and maintaining mobility.
