Description:
Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff.
Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion.
Employs independent judgment in patient care.
Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.
Implements the plan and coordinates care delivery.
Employs strategies to promote health and maintain a safe environment.
Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes and identifies outcomes for the patient.
Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers in delivering care in a safe and humane environment.
Provides learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members.
Directly provides health information to patients, families, and the treatment team.
Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
Delegates appropriately and coordinates the duties of healthcare team members.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Commits to the safety and wellbeing of all associates and patients, necessitating required vaccinations as a condition of employment.
This unit provides care for post-critical medical or surgical patients requiring observation at a level less than intensive care.
This includes a mix of monitored or ventilator-dependent patients and does not include individuals solely monitoring electronic devices from outside the patient room.
