This position serves as the primary point of contact for the sanitation crew. The Crew Lead plans and assigns work, monitors progress, responds to staffing and operational issues, works with Quality Assurance to verify completion of required sanitation activities, and ensures the facility is prepared for safe and timely production start-up. This position will work alongside the sanitation crew in a wet, humid, and physically demanding food-manufacturing environment.Skills:In this role, you will utilize your leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to provide supervision to a team of sanitation workers and ensure the cleanliness and safety of our production environment. Your attention to detail and ability to follow sanitation procedures will be essential in maintaining a high level of cleanliness. Additionally, your ability to collaborate with production and integrate sanitation procedures into the overall production process will be key to your success in this role.Minimum qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.6 months – 1 year+ of sanitation experience in food manufacturing or equivalent.Prior experience in leadership role(s).Coachable and reliable.Preferred experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.Ability to communicate and train effectively across varied language, literacy, cultural, and experience backgrounds.Responsibilities:Performs hands-on cleaning and sanitation duties alongside the sanitation crew while providing day-to-day work directions.Responds to absences, staffing shortages, delayed production shutdowns, equipment problems, and other shift disruptions by reallocating labor and communicating necessary escalations.Serves as the primary sanitation contact during the shift and provides a complete handoff to incoming management.Leads and provides supervision for a team of sanitation workers to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our production environment.Ensures required sanitation records, chemical checks are accurate and complete.Train new sanitation workers on proper cleaning procedures and safety protocolsCollaborate with production supervisor for equipment priority setting.Provides leadership and training to the clean-up crew.Promotes and adheres to company safety work rules and regulations.Works closely with Manager to identify performance, attendance, conduct, or training concerns and documents and escalates them according to company procedures.Keeps area clean and orderly in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Helps to build and promote a strong "Teamwork" environment in each individual work groupOther duties and responsibilities as assigned.Shift:Sunday - Thursday, 10:30 PM – 7:00 AMOccasional overtime on Fridays, if neededPay:$23.88/hour + $1.00/hour shift differentialSara Lee Frozen Bakery provides equal employment opportunities to all associates and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation, and training.
