Medical Service Coordinator

Serve as a point of contact to coordinate medical care Support patients and psychiatric clinicians Provide quality customer service to in-person and remote patients and clinicians Support in-office clinician and staff engagement activities Respond to patient needs and manage difficult or emotional situations Assist clinicians with prior authorizations, lab orders, patient letters, records requests, and forms/paperwork Facilitate communication between patients, medical staff, and pharmacies Answer medical-services phone calls and handle medication questions, refill requests, release requests, appointment reschedules, and inquiries Maintain accurate pharmacy information in patient medical records Scan correspondence into patient EHR records Assist with telehealth access, Patient Portal issues, and troubleshooting Triage urgent patient issues and route or escape them appropriately Coordinate external patient-care referrals Provide clinicians with administrative support, including letters and faxes Coordinate with clinicians regarding patient questions Assist psychiatric clinicians with patient termination processes Requirements High School or equivalent required 1+ years of experience in healthcare operations, customer service, or similar role or setting preferred Ability to multitask and prioritize duties Ability to work independently and as a team member Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMRs Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information under HIPAA Ability to sit, stand, bend, talk, hear, and walk Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, plus ability to adjust focus Core Competencies Demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills while providing administrative support in healthcare settings.
