Director of Nursing (DON) – Skilled Nursing Facility

$90,000 - $100,000/year + Full Benefits

A well-established skilled nursing facility near Mount Vernon, IL is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team. This leadership role is ideal for a motivated RN with a passion for long-term care, clinical excellence, staff development, and resident-centered outcomes.

The DON will oversee all nursing operations, ensure regulatory compliance, support quality improvement initiatives, and foster a positive, team-oriented culture.

• Provide leadership and oversight for the nursing department in a skilled nursing/long-term care environment

• Ensure compliance with CMS, IDPH, and all federal/state regulations

• Oversee clinical operations, infection prevention, quality measures, and survey readiness

• Lead and develop RNs, LPNs, and CNAs

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes

• Manage staffing, scheduling, and departmental performance

• Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives

• Active Illinois RN license required

• 3–5+ years of leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care

• Prior DON or ADON experience preferred

• Strong understanding of CMS regulations and survey process

• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills

• Experience with EMR systems and clinical quality reporting preferred
