Speech-Language Pathologist 1.0 FTE Kellogg Elementary May 28, 2026 Job Summary: Under the direction of the Special Education Supervisor, the speech‑language pathologist will be working with district staff and assigned students. Qualifications: Required: Have a master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology Hold a valid Michigan preliminary or advanced Speech‑Language Pathologist Certificate Possess current Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) One year of successful experience as a Speech Pathologist Able to assess and document student progress Professional in personal conduct and actions Excellent communication skills Meets federal Every Child Succeeds requirements Desired Characteristics: Knowledge of federal and state education laws and other legal aspects of the role of the Speech Pathologist as well as the ethical standards required Experience conducting evaluations as well as Individual Education Plan meetings Experience using technology as an instructional tool in the classroom/therapy setting Experience in working within a Professional Learning Community Demonstrated understanding of the rationale of testing, measurement, and skills in the administration of tests, including those which measure articulation, language, and related processes Knowledge of internet search engines, Google docs and other internet based applications Duties: Provide in‑school speech and language therapy sessions to students Ability to collaborate with other staff Work independently and cooperatively using a variety of assessment/instructional strategies Ability to plan and organize; excellent work habits Willing to attend conferences and participate in professional development Perform other duties as assigned by administration STATEMENT OF NONDISCRIMINATION The Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, including sexual orientation or transgender identity, disability, age, religion, height, weight, marital or family status, military status, ancestry, genetic information or any other legally protected category, in its programs and activities, including employment opportunities.
