Arcetyp LLC is looking for a full-time Credentialing Specialist to provide healthcare credentialing and administrative support to Navy client in Portsmouth VA. The position supports the verification, review, maintenance, and tracking of credentials for prospective and current clinical support staff and healthcare providers. This position is onsite daily at the client site. The Credentialing Specialist works with professional education, specialized training, licensure, certifications, registrations, background information, and other credentialing documentation to help ensure healthcare personnel meet applicable qualification and credentialing requirements. Work is performed onsite at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth at 54 Lewis Minor Street, Portsmouth, VA 23708-2297. This is a full-time position supporting a military medical treatment facility and involves access to sensitive healthcare-provider and personnel information. Personnel must comply with applicable Department of Defense, Defense Health Agency, Naval Medical Center, privacy, information-security, and credentialing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with verification and review of professional education, specialized training, licensure, and background information for prospective and current clinical support staff and healthcare providers.
- Obtain and review required credentialing documentation to establish the authenticity and adequacy of medical and professional qualifications.
- Assist in determining the completeness and adequacy of credentialing and background documentation prior to employment or placement supporting the Navy.
- Monitor and track professional licenses, certifications, registrations, DEA status, and required contingency training for privileged and non-privileged healthcare providers.
- Research and prepare responses to inquiries from healthcare institutions and other organizations concerning the work, training, or performance history of current and former clinical support staff and providers.
- Maintain accurate credentialing and administrative information using Government systems and databases.
- Perform administrative support activities associated with credentialing operations, including document scanning, copying, printing, faxing, typing, records processing, and related office functions.
- Handle credentialing records and sensitive information in accordance with applicable privacy, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and Government information-handling requirements.
- Follow applicable Navy medical standard operating procedures, credentialing policies, instructions, and administrative processes.
- Maintain productivity and quality levels consistent with personnel performing comparable credentialing support services.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
Experience: Minimum of one year of work experience in a healthcare environment, such as a hospital, medical office, or clinic-based setting. Experience must include performance of medical staff credentialing/provider credentialing verification, review, maintenance, and tracking of credentials for prospective and current clinical support staff and healthcare providers.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of healthcare positions, standard clinical duties, medical terminology, and educational requirements associated with different healthcare disciplines. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Basic computer and data-entry skills. Strong organizational and records-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Professional customer-service and telephone skills. Ability to interact effectively with personnel internal and external to the healthcare organization. Ability to accurately review, organize, track, and maintain sensitive credentialing documentation.
Security and Background Requirements: Personnel must satisfy applicable Government security and suitability requirements and complete the required security investigative documentation. This will include completion of the SF-86 Questionnaire for National Security Positions or equivalent Government investigative documentation.
Min. Citizenship Status Required: U.S Citizenship and must be meet suitability screening for working in a federal government environment, must pass a background check.
