Cabin Leader - Male Staff - Camp Shady Brook # Cabin Leader - Male Staff - Camp Shady BrookDeckers, CO 80135## OverviewSalary Range$480.00 - $480.00 Salary## Description**General Responsibilities:**:**Responsible for the health, safety, welfare, and personal development of a group of youth campers on a 24-hour basis.** **Job Requirements:*** Must possess a cooperative spirit and be committed to character development by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to campers, staff, and program participants.* Must have a sincere and genuine interest in working with youth, and should relate well to all age levels and backgrounds of people.* Facilitate community living with youth in a cabin or tent platform.* Ability to plan, initiate and lead small and large group activities* Physical and Mental Requirements* Physically fit and able to hike, walk, stand, bend and lift comfortably over the course of a day.* Mentally and visually alert to recognize potential hazards and accidents.* Physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer emergency care effectively.**Job Segments:*** Facilitate an engaging group living experience in an outdoor environment for campers while helping each camper meet the goals established by the camp for camper development.* Provide camper supervision within established policies, procedures, and risk management guidelines.* Actively plan to teach campers in areas of recreation, environmental studies, and social skills.* Responsible for monitoring camper eating habits, health, relationships, and hygiene* Alert maintenance personnel of repairs needed to equipment or facility to maintain proper working/operating conditions.* Prepare for and actively participate in staff training and staff meetings.* Act as a positive role model for campers and other staff, demonstrating the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in the performance of job duties.* Evaluate current season and make suggestions for future season.* Play an active role in all camp activities.* Will work stay over weekends as assigned.* May work one week as housekeeping/office/kitchen/maintenance crew.* Other duties as may be assigned. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.**Weekly salary of $480.00**## Qualifications**Qualifications*** Must be 18 years of age on or before August 1 st of the summer season.* High School diploma or equivalent required* CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Oxygen and First Aid Certifications* Prior experience with youth or family programming. #J-18808-Ljbffr Ymca Of Pikes Peak Region Inc
