Job Description
Optometrist – Norwalk, OH
Seeking a full-time Optometrist (OD) to join a medically focused practice in the Norwalk, Ohio area. Weekdays only!
Position Overview Are you looking for a role where you can do meaningful work, grow professionally, and enjoy a healthy work-life balance? Do you value patient-centered care, modern technology, and a collaborative team environment?
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Doctor of Optometry (OD) to join a premier, fast-growing national eye care organization in Norwalk, OH. This position offers a unique blend of corporate stability and private-practice style clinical autonomy. Rather than boxing you into a rigid corporate mold, leadership actively supports a full-scope clinical approach, giving you the freedom to utilize your entire skillset and practice precisely how you see fit to deliver top-tier patient care.
Location This opportunity is based in Norwalk, Ohio. Known as the "Maple City" and the county seat of Huron County, Norwalk offers an outstanding quality of life with an affordable cost of living, safe neighborhoods, and rich historic charm. Residents enjoy a tight-knit community feel, excellent local schools, historic downtown shopping and dining, and easy access to outdoor recreation at nearby reservoirs and parks. Situated just 20 minutes south of Lake Erie and Sandusky, Norwalk combines small-town warmth with quick connectivity to Cleveland, Akron, and Toledo.
Organization Overview Our high-end, well-equipped practice group is a leader in primary care, committed to a model that prioritizes the doctor-patient relationship. By handling the administrative, operational, and marketing complexities, our organization ensures that its providers can dedicate their full attention to clinical excellence.
The practice environment is collaborative and high-energy, featuring modern diagnostic equipment, an established patient base, and a fully trained technical team. It is an ideal setting for both seasoned providers and new graduates looking for a supportive infrastructure, specialized peer mentorship, and a strong community presence.
What You'll Be Working On
- Providing comprehensive, full-scope eye examinations and personalized patient care.
- Diagnosing, managing, and treating ocular diseases and conditions to the full extent of Ohio licensure.
- Prescribing corrective lenses, contact lenses, and other specialized vision aids.
- Maintaining accurate, detailed digital patient records within our modern EMR system.
- Collaborating with an experienced, in-office optometric technician and a dedicated optical team to ensure a seamless patient flow.
- Contributing to a practice culture that values "patients first," professional autonomy, and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school of optometry.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Optometrist in the state of Ohio.
- A clinical mindset focused on full-scope care, patient education, and long-term relationship-building.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with an experienced support staff.
- Schedule Flexibility: Open to full-time schedules with built-in flexibility, including rotating weekend availability.
What's In It For You Our leadership team does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to compensation. We are highly competitive, completely supportive of our doctors, and will structure a financial package based on what you value most:
- Competitive Base Salary: Highly competitive guaranteed base salary with zero fixed caps.
- Production Incentives: High-yield production bonuses and premium performance incentives.
- Schedule Options: Flexible full-time (4+ days/week) and select part-time schedules available.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Premium medical, dental, and vision coverage, continuing education (CE) allowances, paid malpractice insurance, and retirement matching (for full-time roles).
Equal Opportunity Employer Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, protected veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
