Data/Visualization Engineer SME

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Data Visualization Engineer SME specializing in data visualization to join our team in Fort Belvoir, VA or Albuquerque, New Mexico. The primary focus of this role is to design, develop, and maintain informative dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI and MicroStrategy. The successful candidate will play a critical mission-support role by transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that directly facilitate business strategy, decision-making, and IT Operations sustainment..in support of critical mission requirements enhancing the reliability and security of Department of War (DoW) networks and systems.Clearance: Active Secret clearance at time of hire and able to obtain Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).Primary Responsibilities:Dashboard Development - Design, build, and deploy interactive dashboards, reports, and dossiers using Power BI andMicroStrategyThe information in this document is proprietary to Leidos. It may not be used, reproduced, disclosed, or exported without the written approval of Leidos.Leidos ProprietaryIT Operations Support - Identify, extract, and analyze relevant data specifically in support of IT Operations and systemsustainment initiatives.Data Integration & ETL - Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from disparate structured and unstructured datasources to prepare it for analysis and visualization.Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner with business leaders and IT decision-makers to gather requirements and translatebusiness needs into technical visualization specifications.Data Analysis - Interrogate and analyze complex datasets to uncover critical trends, patterns, and insights that supportstrategic initiatives.Optimization & Quality Assurance - Validate data accuracy, troubleshoot reporting anomalies, and optimize dashboardperformance for end-users.User Enablement - Provide guidance, documentation, and training to end-users on how to effectively interact with andinterpret the visualization tools.Documentation & Standards - Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, standard operating procedures, anddata dictionaries in support of delivered products.Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all tools comply with DoW STIGs and IL5/IL6/IL7 protocols; develop andmaintain architectural documentation and compliance traceability.Basic Qualifications:Requires BS and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain - additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree. Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance at time of hire and able to obtain Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).Certification: Active IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, or SSCP) required.Citizenship: United States Citizenship is required.Core Experience: Proven professional track record in data analysis, business intelligence, and building data visualizations for enterprise use.Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with IT Operations and sustainment, including a strong understanding of how toidentify and apply relevant data to support these functions.Data Integration / ETL: Experience with data extract, transform, and load (ETL) techniques using disparate structuredand unstructured data sources.Technical Proficiency: Advanced hands-on experience with Power BI (including DAX and Power Query) and MicroStrategy (including Dossiers and standard reporting).Database Skills: Strong command of SQL and experience querying complex relational databases and data warehouses.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical data findings clearly to non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications:Advanced Scripting: Familiarity with Python or R for advanced data manipulation and statistical analysis.Certifications: Relevant industry certifications in Power BI (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) orMicroStrategy.Data Architecture: Understanding of data warehousing concepts and advanced semantic layer modeling.
