Job Description

This position will provide support for the analysis, documentation, testing, and implementation of new systems, as well as provide maintenance and support for existing systems. This position will act as a direct liaison with user, technical support, training, and operations personnel. This position will provide technical and administrative support to the department, and assist more senior level team members with project and support activities. Responsibilities range from hardware support and build to imaging informatics application maintenance and troubleshooting to QC for data integrity as assigned.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. System Administration of Imaging Information Systems as assigned:

2. a) Configure and test radiology orders, forms, billing coding, and clinical data mapping in medical records system

3. b) Configure and test clinical imaging systems for proper archival and display

4. c) Configure and test worklists, dictation systems, and other related imaging systems to enable clinical and research workflows

5. d) Assist in design and testing of components and upgrade versions

6. e) Server administration for covered applications

7. Project support for covered applications:

8. a) Test and install new client software as needed

9. b) Participate in upgrade and strategic projects as assigned

10. c) Work with internal and external technical resources

11. d) Participate in upgrade and strategic projects as assigned Work with internal and external technical resources End user education and training activities

12. Quality Control and Error Management of PACS and RIS Data:

13. a) Monitor PACS worklists as assigned.

14. b) Monitor HL7 error queues as assigned

15. c) Resolve image generation issues with technologists

16. d) Resolve physician interpretation issues

17. e) Correct and resubmit interface messages

19. Provide call coverage on all supported Imaging Systems:

20. a) Provide around the clock call coverage on a scheduled rotation with team

21. b) Systems support for clinical information systems to resolve issues with orders, results, dictation, interfaces, and other areas as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, and three (3) years of technical experience. On-the-job experience should be supplemented with continuing education gained through technical seminars and/or training courses. 7 years of relevant clinical informatics or PACS administration experience may substitute for degree requirement.

Preferred: Experience as a technical administrator for EMR, PACS, and dictation systems in a clinical setting. Experience with data reconciliation, applications testing, and end user training.
