Location: Saugerties, NY 12477
Shift: Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM – 9:00 PM; Rotating Saturday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Job Description:

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization by providing exceptional patient care during specimen collection. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, processing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring patient comfort while following established procedures and quality standards.
Working under the supervision of the area manager, the Phlebotomist I performs specimen collection and processing accurately, maintains patient records, and upholds confidentiality while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages, including Pediatric and geriatric patients.
Process, label, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
Verify patient identification and maintain accurate documentation.
Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection following established procedures.
Maintain specimen integrity and comply with safety and infection control guidelines.
Provide excellent customer service while creating a positive patient experience.
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
Support additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
Excellent venipuncture skills, including Pediatric and geriatric collections.
Specimen processing experience is required.
Strong data entry and keyboarding skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
