Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 8 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements:

• 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
• Postpartum and nursery experience
• Current ACLS certification (AHA)
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Current NRP certification
• Active OH or compact nursing license at time of submission
• BSN degree (preferred)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments on patients and conduct reassessments in accordance with facility policies.
• Assess and reassess patient pain using appropriate evaluation methods and implement effective pain management techniques while educating patients and families on pain relief options.
• Develop, revise, and daily evaluate individualized care plans based on patient responses to treatment.
• Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of developmental principles across the lifespan.
• Administer medications accurately following the five medication rights and demonstrate knowledge of their appropriate use based on age and clinical condition.
• Formulate teaching plans based on assessed learning needs, involving patients and families in the education process.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address patient needs and enhance care delivery.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with team members, patients, and families while ensuring a safe and respectful environment.

Compliance / Notes:

• Annual competencies and competencies for bedside blood glucose waived testing must be maintained.
