Plumbing Instructor (Part-time)The Plumbing Instructor (Part-time) is responsible for providing quality skills instruction to our construction trades students through seated and practical hands-on/lab courses. The Instructor is responsible for providing one-on-one and whole group instruction so that students are able to acquire the skills expected to be employed in the plumbing industry. This position will remain open until filled.QualificationsHigh school diplomaNC Plumbing Licensure Level 1 and Level 2 required; Level 3 preferredMinimum of 3 years' experience as a plumber (hands-on) in commercial or residentialWorking ConditionsClassroom, lab, or shop environmentFrequent standing and walking to monitor student progressSome lifting of materials pertaining to lab projectsEssential Functions and ResponsibilitiesThe duties of the Plumbing Instructor (Part-time) include, but are not limited to:Must be able to interpret construction plansLearn and use technology, when appropriate, to enhance teaching and the educational experienceModify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students' needsPlan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learningEmploy appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to studentsEncourage the development of communication skills and higher-order thinking skills through appropriate assignmentsDevelop instructional materials in accordance with course objectivesDevelop supplemental materials and/or visual aides to enhance textbook learningMaintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters to the division administrator each semester according to established deadlinesStay current through the certifying organizations and attending professional meetings, conferences or workshopsNotice of NondiscriminationLenoir Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
