This role is tailored for experienced Registered Nurses specializing in CVICU care, looking to further their practice in an advanced cardiovascular setting. Exposure to innovative patient care techniques and multidisciplinary leadership will strengthen your clinical skills and enhance your resume, offering unparalleled professional growth.


Schedule:

• 12-hour day shifts
• Every other weekend
• Holidays required
• No on-call responsibilities

Qualifications:

• Active Illinois RN license
• Minimum three years of recent CVICU experience
• Strong competency in EKG interpretation and management of dysrhythmias (successful EKG test score ≥80% required)
• Current certifications: CPR, ACLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Recent experience with advanced cardiovascular devices (Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, CRRT)
• Experience with ECMO and post-cardiac surgery care preferred
• Charge nurse experience is a plus
• Ability to float to nearby ICUs as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert care for critically ill cardiac patients, including post-cardiac cath, valve repair/replacement, and complex cardiac assessments
• Oversee multi-system organ failure cases, manage thermoregulation, and advanced IV therapy
• Skillfully administer medications, blood products, and manage various lines and ports
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a high-acuity setting
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
